About Us

Davie Funeral and Cremation of Yadkinville has been a cornerstone in Yadkinville for over 80 years. Originally opened as Hinshaw Brothers Funeral Home in 1922, it became Mackie-Hinshaw in 1937. The original owner, Hurley Hinshaw, is given credit for setting high standards of funeral conduct, which is still practiced today. In 1963, Grady Mackie and Carl Gentry, Jr. purchased the funeral home from Hurley Hinshaw and, in 1972, moved the funeral home to its present location at 2001 West Main Street. It opened as Mackie-Gentry Funeral Home and Chapel. Because of this move, the funeral home was able to provide better service, due to the increased size of the building and additional parking. In 2000, Bob and Sue Sinclair bought the funeral home and, in 2007, it became Mackie-Sinclair Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. They have dedicated themselves to the high standards first set by Hurley Hinshaw, Grady Mackie, and Carl Gentry, Jr. in 2013, We changed the name to Davie Funeral and Cremation of Yadkinville to reflect that we added our own Crematory on site in Yadkinville to better serve the needs of the families, so they know their loved ones stays in our care throughout the entire process, from taking them into our care until the end of what ever service you select from cremation to burial.
