Beverly Ponder

   Beverly Ponder, of Yadkinville, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, just 17 days before her 87th Birthday. 

   Beverly was born on February 27, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Richard J. Zeiler, Jr. and Juanita Dilday Zeiler.   Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Rev. Douglas Ponder and by her sister Dolores Zeiler. 

   Beverly graduated from Howard College (now Samford University) with a bachelor’s degree.  Beverly worked for many years with children and adults with development disabilities. Before retirement in 1990, Beverly worked at the Tammy Lynn Center in Raleigh. 

   Beverly is survived by three children:  Jeffrey of Mocksville; Karen of Raleigh and Marcia (Rev. Dennis) Shaw of Boonville; one Granddaughter, Emily of Boonville; one Brother, Richard (Linda) Zeiler, III of Pensacola, Florida; four nephews and one niece. 

   Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Yadkinville, PO Box 668 Yadkinville, NC 27055or to Caraleigh Baptist Church 1400 Green Street Raleigh, NC 27603. 

   A private service will be held at a later date in Raleigh.
