Billy Ray Sizemore, 74, of Lone Hickory Road, Yadkinville, died at his home Wednesday, November 19, 2014. A native and lifelong resident of Yadkin County, he was born October 21, 1940, the son of the late Troy Sizemore and Mary Flynn Sizemore.
Mr. Sizemore retired from the Yadkin County Board of Education where he served as chief mechanic at the school bus garage for a number of years. He was a friend to all, sometimes known as “Smiling Billy,” and he never met a stranger. To his family, he was a loving dad and grandfather.
He will be well remembered and greatly missed by many, but most particularly by his beloved family who are: two daughters, Cathy Williams and husband, Jamie, of Boonville and Marianne Sizemore of Yadkinville; one son, David Sizemore and wife, Cassie, of Yadkinville; three sisters, Darlene Adams and Louise Martin, both of Yadkinville, and Shirley Sizemore of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Amanda Hutchens, Johnathon Troutman, Katie Wooten, Zeth Wooten and Holly Davis; and great grandchildren, Haven, Henry, Havana and Matthew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Troy Sizemore and Roger Sizemore.
The family will receive friends at Mackie-Sinclair-Hawkins Funeral & Crematory Service in Yadkinville on Saturday, November 22nd from 1:00 until 3:00 PM. A graveside Celebration of Life service will follow Saturday at 4:00 PM at Sandy Springs Baptist Church in Harmony with Rev. Robbie Sizemore officiating.
