Charles Allen Mullis Sr.

Charles Allen Mullis Sr., 85, of Hamptonville, NC passed away on Sunday December 27th, 2020 at his home after a brief illness.

He was born April 30th, 1935 to Zeddie Kiah Mullis Sr. and Margie Lenora Mayberry Mullis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Walker Mullis, his son Charles “Allen” Mullis Jr., a brother, Zeddie Kiah “ZK” Mullis Jr. and a sister Peggy Louise Mullis.

Surviving are his daughter Carol Mullis Lewis (Rusty) of Hamptonville, sons, Andy Mullis (Christine) of Hamptonville and Barry Mullis (Gabriele) of Mooresville and multiple Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister, Mary Mullis Williams of Salisbury.

He was a farmer as soon as he was big enough to walk and carry a hoe. He was also a lifelong Hunter and enjoyed trout fishing.

Charles began his career as a Barber in Jonesville, NC and Hamptonville. He left barbering to work for RJ Reynolds Tobacco in Winston-Salem and retired in 2000.

He never retired from farming and hunting or going out to visit neighbors, family and friends on a Sunday morning….

A visitation for Charles will be held Tuesday December 29, 2020 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Davie Funeral and Cremation of Yadkinville.  The funeral service for Charles will be held on December 30, 2020 at 2:00 pm located at Shiloh Baptist Church, burial will follow the service at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.  The service will be officiated by Rev. Jim Holbrook.
