Kathleen (Hayes) Hutchens

Kathleen “Kat” Hayes Hutchens, 84, of Linwood, NC, died December 1, 2019 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.

Kat was born on June 7, 1935 in Yadkin County, NC, the daughter of the late Lala Hayes. She was also preceded by her husband Nelson Hutchens, granddaughter Christy Sink Eaton, sister Mazie Reavis, brother Jessie Hayes.

Kat attended Yadkin County Schools, then worked as a production operator at Celanese for 24 years. She loved puzzles, crocheting, and Facebook.

Surviving are children Kathy Scarlette (James) of Lexington, NC, Wayne Hutchens (Margaret) of Mocksville, NC, Anita Sanford of Huntersville, NC, Rebecca Ridenhour (Jeff) of Booneville, NC, and Vickie Gammons (Jody) of Mocksville, two very special sister- in- laws Freddie Nichols of Mocksville, Ruby Sharpe of Harmony, NC, sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, three nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00PM on Monday December 9, 2019 at Sandy Springs Church in Harmony, NC, Pastors David Kiser and Timothy Sink will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date in Siloam Cemetery.
